So the second lesson begins!
Part 2 is a way different story. We strolled our 2 year old toddlers into British Swim School like we had been there and done that lol. Meaning we strolled in last minute!
Once we arrived we got the boys into their swim diapers and then right at 12pm when their lesson starts we went right to the pool deck and right into water. No waiting…
And Walla! No Meltdowns! Yes!!!
The lessons went great. One thing we noticed was we had a different instructor, which was a surprise. I didn’t know we would have a different instructor every time, which was kinda a bummer.
Toddlers like consistency and our first instructor was so friendly! It just means more change for the boys and hopefully their next instructor wont spark some major stranger danger.
If you read the last blog post, you would know that my mom comes to the swim lessons with me, one adult per baby! But my husband actually joined this time on the sidelines just incase things didn’t go as smoothly and next lesson he will be filling in for my mom.
Because my husband came to the swim lessons, he took photos which is really nice to have, otherwise we wouldn’t have many or any photos.

The boys really enjoyed the swim lessons which means it was worth trying them again. It would have been easy to give up and say it was too much. But giving the boys a chance to acclimate to swim lessons was way worth it and super important for them. We can do hard things!

I don’t know about your twins but my twin toddlers are in the 90th percentile for height and they definitely stick out at the swim lessons and not just because of the meltdown at the first lesson lol. Most of the class is actually babies since its and introductory class and there are many different levels to move up. A lot of swim places don’t offer swim lessons for children under 3 so we were lucky that British Swim School does.

What did we learn from Swim Lessons Part 2?
~It pays of stick to things even if they are hard
~Our toddlers are learning and acclimating to new experiences so give them time
~Use transitions as a proactive strategy to reduce Meltdowns
~Toddlers excel with familiarity and consistency, even from new experiences grows routine
